Welcome to my blog....

My name is Tasha Gowdy and I live in Totnes, Devon with my husband, Johnny and Marley, the cat. I've recently started an MSc Forestry course some 30 years after my first degree and this blog follows my learning as I navigate this new challenge. The posts are guided by my studies but stray into other areas - art, people, places...the stuff of life. 

 

Nature sustains me and makes me smile, even when I don't feel like it. Trees in particular bring me joy and I have been using them to make furniture for the last 25 years of my life in my career as a designer/maker. I am now learning, in great detail, about these marvelous forces of nature - how we may best grow and nurture them for the benefit of humankind and the health of our planet.

Through writing I hope to consolidate my thoughts and by sharing these words I am attempting to be a bit braver about life.
